Editorial Policy

How Water Operator Guide uses primary sources, labels uncertainty, writes original practice questions, and avoids misleading licensing claims.

Source priority

  1. Current state agency program pages, forms, regulations, candidate handbooks, and official portals.
  2. Federal and recognized operator-certification references for general process concepts.
  3. Training-provider or community material only for context—not as the controlling licensing source.

State facts versus study guidance

Credential names, application order, fees, deadlines, experience, reciprocity, and renewal must be tied to a state source. General process and safety study content is clearly separated from state eligibility.

Practice-question standard

Questions are original and teach operator reasoning. We do not claim that they are leaked, recalled, guaranteed, or identical to a state examination.

Updates and corrections

Every state page links to the agency source and displays a review date. When a form conflicts with this site, the current agency material controls.
