Each state command center keeps the credential map, application sequence, exam note, saved checklist, and agency links on one useful page.

Why state first? Operator certification is administered by state programs. Do not buy a course or choose an exam class from a national chart alone.
AZ

Arizona

Arizona has four operator fields and four grades. Choose the field before booking a WPI exam or submitting certification through the online portal.

California

California uses separate drinking-water treatment, distribution, and wastewater certification programs. Pick the field first; the application, exam, and experience rules are not interchangeable.

Florida

Florida requires the applicable exam plus the education, training, and experience required for the license level. Passing the exam alone is not the license.
